A medical team from the Church at Briargate spent 5 days and 4 nights in El Triunfo, located in the department of San Miguel. Working with two medical doctors from El Salvador, and bringing a pediatrician, an optometrist, an EMT, a nurse, and an assistant, they saw over 360 patients who came for consultations, medications, and glasses. Far from their home in Colorado Springs, the team spent their nights away from home in a community without clean water or electricity, but they left with new friendships, lessons in gratitude, and a new-found peace they received from the community members in El Triunfo.
